Gerald Hiestand grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he attended Moody Bible Institute (BA Biblical Studies), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MA Christian Thought). He served as an Associate Pastor of Student Ministries in Fremont, Nebraska (’99-’02), and now as a Pastor of Adult Ministries at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Beyond Raising Purity, Gerald has written a number of theological articles (Trinity Journal, Westminster Theological Journal, Reformation 21), contributed to Dr. Joseph M. Stowell’s pulpit curriculum, and blogs regularly with Dr. James MacDonald.
Gerald has been married to his wife Jill for 11 years, and together they have three children. His experiences as a young man, as well as his time working in student ministries, provided the occasion for much of what he writes in Raising Purity. His heart is to see the gospel and image of God reclaim the center-stage in all areas of life.
